Happy New Year, Hong Kong  is a 3D video mapping show.

The event celebrated the New Year of 2012 (with a countdown to midnight) at Hong Kong’s East Point Centre.

The 15 minute video is a 3D and 2D animation, projected using the technique of videomapping on existing scenery representing a building, which ends with a live window on the Hong Kong skyline immersed in pyrotechnic displays that celebrate the new year.

The video tells of a toy factory where Father Christmas creates a voyage between dream and fear in a blend of Chinese tradition and the contemporary, in order to lead the spectators to the final countdown in the celebrating city.

Devised and written by Angelo Bonella with the aim of creating a virtual passage from the closed site of the celebration to the place of greatest visual impact in the city.
